How to spend time in our little green home

Eat the best food money can not buy in the big cities, even better...
You can pick your vegetable from the fields around, you'll taste the best tomatoes ever.
You can buy fresh fish just off the hook from the local fisherman. The better thing would be you catch yourself, great spots for fishing including spearfishing.
You can visit Apollon Kasap in Gulpinar for the best red meat grass fed around our village; lamb chops is my favorite, try home made sucuk (spicy Turkish sausage).
Fridays farmers market in Ayvacik, very colourful, not only to feed your body also to feed your eyes and soul.
Saturdays Gulpinar has small market in the morning period, you should make it before noon. Local ladies are selling their products from their little farms.

If you don't like cooking there is also solution for that as well. Here are couple of recommendation where you can eat and enjoy the beach at the same time;

Sivrice Muammer Can
Continue the coast towards the lighthouse. You'll see the big village square where you'll see the beautiful willow tree. You'll see Muammer Can's little run down restaurant by the sea, literally on the water. The appearance is not that attractive but I can guarantee satisfaction about the sea food. Local fisherman Tuncay Cetin brings the fish every morning fresh and you always get fresh food there. Very simple but tasty.

Assos Yildiz Saray
Assos is my love, the reason why I choose to live in the are, little antique harbour surrounded by historic stone buildings. There is some kind of magic in this little harbor.
From Behramkale follow the 'Antik Liman' sign to the harbor, my favorite is Yildiz Saray, the first stone building on the left. Family run business, dad catches the fish, mom cooks, son serves, great combination. They have a platform on the water. Enjoy your dinner while watching the sea. The best food in the area, very rich, unique, traditional meze selection, most of the greens comes from their own garden, highly recommended.

Babakale Denizhan Fish Restaurant
Babakale is a little fisherman's village, no charm left after they turned the cute little harbour into a huge concrete pile but still the best seafood from local catch. Follow Babakale signs from Gulpinar. Denizhan is a roof top fish restaurant, very friendly atmosphere, you'll enjoy both food and the view.
Babakale is named after the castle 'kale', worths visiting if you are interested in seeing historic places.
Another detail; Babakale is the most western point of Turkey and facing west, you'll enjoy the magnificent sunsets.

Akliman
Turn right while driving from Gulpinar to Babakale and follow the signs to the beach. You'll be driving through the olive grooves, just follow the dirt road.
There are couple of cafes on the beach which I don't find the food very special but the service is great. It feels great having your cold drink of snacks served to your chez-lounge while you are chilling on the beautiful sandy beach.
